Grammy-winning rock duo The Black Keys will release their 13th studio album No Rain, No Flowers on Friday, August 8 via Easy Eye Sound/Warner Records. The album was self-produced and recorded at Easy Eye Sound Studios in Nashville.
The new album features contributions from Grammy-winning songwriters Rick Nowels and Daniel Tashian, as well as legendary keyboardist and producer Scott Storch. Unlike their previous record Ohio Players, which included artist collaborations, this time the band focused on working directly with admired songwriters.
Dan Auerbach shared his experience working with Rick Nowels on Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence, noting the unique chemistry they developed. Patrick Carney emphasized the value of being in the room with accomplished writers like Tashian and Storch.
The album’s groove and spirit are heavily inspired by the band’s Record Hangs – DJ events where Auerbach and Carney spin rare 45s from their vinyl collection for enthusiastic crowds. No Rain, No Flowers will be available in limited-edition colored 12" vinyl with tattoo-style illustrated posters, and on CD with a fold-out poster.
