Bad Omens release new single Impose

American metalcore band Bad Omens have released their second single of 2025, titled Impose. The track arrives just one month after the debut of Specter, a five-minute song that begins with an atmospheric build before intensifying halfway through.

Impose opens with dense sound textures but, unlike much of the band’s past work, the signature heavy riffs and pounding drums never fully break through. The result is a five-minute piece that feels calm in sound yet carries deeply introspective and emotionally tense lyrics.

Bad Omens in 2025

Despite releasing singles in back-to-back months, the group has not yet confirmed details about a new album. Their last full-length record, The Death of Peace of Mind, was released in 2022 and cemented their place as one of the leading acts in modern metalcore.

The band is scheduled to perform at two U.S. festivals: Louder Than Life in Louisville on September 20 and Aftershock in Sacramento on October 4, before heading to Europe for a run of shows.

A sound in evolution

With Impose, the band shows a willingness to explore less predictable structures, opting for a more atmospheric approach. This direction may feel refreshing to some listeners but perhaps surprising to fans expecting heavier sounds. Still, it highlights Bad Omens’ determination to expand their musical identity rather than rely on repetition.
