5 Seconds Of Summer release their new single Boyband

A new chapter for the Australian band

On Thursday, October 16, 2025, the multi-platinum Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer released Boyband, the new single from their upcoming album Everyone’s A Star!, set for release on November 14 and now available for preorder. The record will be out in several formats, including the Picture Disc, which sold out in under an hour, and CD.

A tribute to their fans and history

Boyband is an ode to the fans and a playful nod to the label that has followed them throughout their career. The band explained that the song is about taking ownership of that definition and turning it into a source of empowerment.

The new album Everyone’s A Star!

The new record, Everyone’s A Star!, arrives more than three years after their critically and commercially acclaimed album 5SOS5, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. The album was created between Los Angeles and Nashville during 2024 and 2025, written and produced in collaboration with Jason, Julian Bunetta, and John Ryan.
Luke Hemmings described it as an album made by four musicians capable of standing alone but united by a shared creative spirit. Everyone’s A Star! captures the youthful energy of their beginnings with the experience of fifteen years of evolution.

Live performances and new tracks

After joining the Jonas Brothers in Los Angeles for their JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, 5 Seconds Of Summer returned to the stage at the Sun Rose West Hollywood, where they previewed new songs from the album: NOT OK, Boyband, Telephone Busy, No.1 Obsession and Everyone’s A Star!, alongside fan favorites like Youngblood, She Looks So Perfect and Teeth.

A career of global success

Composed of Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin, 5 Seconds Of Summer have earned 1 platinum and 4 gold records in Italy. The band has bridged pop, punk, rock, and alternative sounds, becoming one of the defining acts of their generation. Songs like She Looks So Perfect and Youngblood achieved massive global success, surpassing one billion streams and establishing them as one of Australia’s most iconic bands.
