ABOUT THE GENRE
Hardcore
Music fans recognize hardcore as a sound and energy distinctly different from other genres. A reflection of the culture that founded it, hardcore music harnesses honest and raw rage from forming out of the desolate punk scenes in the 1980s. Sacrifice, pain, intensity: this is what hardcore songs strive for with manic fervor combining seemingly competing genres like metal and punk. Chugging riffs interspersed with saxophone solos maximize the barometric drop of earworm drum beats motivating any enthusiast to create a cultural revolution upstairs or down beneath. Flipping back and forth between breakdowns and abrasive verses Hardcore is differentiated by its dive into moans, angst filled growls backed by varying tempos ultimately outperforming all else most notably culminated in its ultimate anthem, “The Worm” commonly denoting dropping fists and kicking off a mosh pits dreamscape.
